Textor, the president of the super-broken Botafogo fan club, wants to sue Leila

John Textor, owner of Botafogo’s SAF and known for his controversies, is taking his public disputes with Leila Pereira, president of Palmeiras, to the courts. The controversial American businessman has decided to sue Leila in the United States and has already hired the famous lawyer Paul Tuchmann, who gained notoriety in the FIFAgate case.

The journalist Mauricio Noriegathis Sunday (14) on the program “Sunday with Benja” on TV CNN Brazilcommented on the case and was categorical: “He is ridiculous”. Noriega also added that Textor may have been well-intentioned, but he did not contribute anything to Brazilian football, since he “did not present any evidence” to support his accusations. In addition, Noriega classified the analyses carried out by the company hired by Textor, which allegedly used artificial intelligence, as “ridiculous” and disconnected from reality.

In an interview with the “ge” portal, Textor confirmed his intention to take the president of Palmeiras to court, after a series of exchanges of accusations that have been taking place since the end of the 2023 Brazilian Championship.

But Textor’s actions do not stop there. He also intends to sue auditor Mauro Marcelo de Lima e Silva, from the STJD, who suggested a six-year suspension and a fine of R$2 million for the businessman, considering his evidence on match-fixing in Brazil to be invalid.

“She crossed the line. I’m going after her. I’m obviously under attack. I’m well represented in the US courts. Leila crossed the line. This Mr. Mauro crossed the line. So Paul Tuchmann and I are going to look at this,” Textor said.

Paul Tuchmann, a former prosecutor for the United States Department of Justice, worked on the FIFAgate case, which exposed one of the biggest corruption scandals in world football, resulting in the arrest of several officials, including José Maria Marin, former president of the CBF.

“It’s not a crime, because Leila didn’t do anything in the US, but it’s an anti-corruption rule. It says that people who impede or obstruct anti-corruption investigations can lose their visas and their right to visit the US. From the point of view of slander or defamation, of course. She’s running a campaign, saying in the international press that John Textor needs to pay for the crimes he committed against the people, the clubs and the institutions of Brazil,” Textor explained.

The Controversy with Leila Pereira and the “cuckold syndrome”

Textor’s allegations began after Botafogo’s 4-3 defeat to Palmeiras at the Nilton Santos Stadium in the 2023 Brasileirão. Since then, he has made several statements, presenting reports based on artificial intelligence and involving bodies such as the Civil Police and the STJD.

The repercussion of the allegations led to the creation of the CPI on Result Manipulation and Sports Betting, where Textor and Leila Pereira were heard, among other characters.

Could this be a kind of football version of “cuckold syndrome”?

“Cuckold syndrome” is not an official medical term, but rather a colloquial expression used in a humorous and sarcastic manner to describe the behavior of a person who has been cheated on by their romantic partner. This “syndrome” refers to a series of emotional and behavioral reactions common among those who discover that they have been cheated on.

Symptoms and behaviors associated with “cuckold syndrome” include:

Deep Sadness and Depression: Discovering betrayal can lead to intense feelings of sadness, discouragement and even depression.

Anger and Resentment: It is common for the betrayed person to feel deep anger towards the unfaithful partner and sometimes also towards the person with whom the partner had the affair.

Low self-esteem: Cheating can cause a significant decrease in self-esteem and self-confidence.

Obsessive Behaviors: The betrayed person may begin to exhibit obsessive behaviors, such as the need to monitor the partner or the obsession with discovering every detail of the infidelity.

Shame and Humiliation: The feeling of shame can be exacerbated by the perception that others know about the betrayal, leading to public humiliation.

Doubts and Insecurities: The person may begin to question their own attractiveness and worth, as well as feel insecure about their ability to maintain relationships in the future.

Desire for Revenge: Some people may feel a strong desire for revenge against their unfaithful partner.

Although it is an informal expression and often used in a joking or derogatory tone, the experience of being cheated on can have a profound and lasting emotional impact on a person’s life. It is important to seek emotional support and, in some cases, professional help, such as therapy, to deal with the feelings and behaviors resulting from cheating.

John Textor’s Allegations and the Complete Lack of Evidence

After accusations against referees and the CBF at the end of 2023, Textor took the lead in allegations of match-fixing in Brazil. His accusations are based on reports from companies such as Good Game!, which conduct behavioral analyses of players and referees.

Leila Pereira, in turn, responded vehemently, calling Textor a “disgrace to Brazilian football”. Since then, the relationship between the two has become a battlefield, with constant exchanges of barbs and lawsuits in the Common and Sports Courts.

The first action was taken by Palmeiras in April of this year, with a complaint to the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD), marking yet another chapter in the never-ending soap opera of Textor, the most ridiculous and ridiculous president of Brazilian football.
