“I started as a DJ when I was working in Asia, as a model. I confess that at the time I didn’t see it as a profession, also due to my inexperience, but as time went by I fell in love with it and this motivated me to study more and invest in this career. Today I focus 100% on my musical career, I have projects in development, I plan to release my first EP in the first half of 2025, with special appearances”He explained.
Kali spoke about the challenges of being a woman and working in the music industry.
“There are several challenges that we as female DJs face in the music market. The first is the lack of representation, which only makes it difficult for me to recognize and value my work. In addition to the difficulties of opportunity and sexism, which damage our daily higher flights and makes us feel constantly undervalued”quote the artist.
She confessed that she almost gave up her career in the past because she suffered from impostor syndrome and took the opportunity to encourage other women who are going through this problem in their careers.
“I have dealt with impostor syndrome at certain points in my DJ career. There were several moments where I felt inadequate or incapable, questioning whether I really deserved to be where I was, performing at those big events and constantly doubting my achievements. Until it happened. There was a point where this became such a heavy burden that I started running away from future achievements and thought about giving up on my career. It was my support network of family and friends at the time, and also therapy, that made me understand what I was going through and what I was going through. I tried to discover myself and see my true value. Today, I tend to talk a lot on my social media about this, that we should take care of our mental health, encourage people to pursue their dreams and never let anyone diminish their true value.”he concluded.
