The country singer said he “can’t sing anymore” in his final shows
Ralf has announced that he will take a career break two months after the loss of his brother Chrystian, who died of septic shock from pneumonia compounded by comorbidities. The country singer said he has been criticized for following his professional commitments.
“After Chrystian died, I continued to do shows in the United States and others in Brazil. It was getting difficult and I asked for a break. I was really sick. I couldn’t sing anymore. I couldn’t sing ‘Amaremos’. It was too heavy for me,” Ralf said, in André Piunti’s podcast.
The singer explained that he tried to bring the duo’s name into his performances, but the criticism had a significant impact on his decision: “I’m in the worst moment of my life. I try to exempt myself from criticism and have my feelings. People think that mourning is in the clothes you wear. Pain is what you feel inside. They can’t analyze your feelings.
Ralf also clarified that he is not as distant from Chrystian as he had previously stated to the press. “I am dyslexic and at the wake I said that we had not spoken to each other for four years. Then I was corrected by my office. We have spoken throughout the pandemic,” he corrected.
The Death of Cristiano
Singer Chrystian died on June 19 in São Paulo at the age of 67. He suffered a cardiac arrest and was transported by Military Police helicopter to Samaritano Hospital, but ended up not resisting.
The artist suffered from polycystic kidney disease, a hereditary disease that causes groups of cysts to develop in the organ, and was preparing for a kidney transplant, which would be donated by his wife Key Vieira. The surgery was scheduled for March, but was postponed until the end of the year due to the singer’s health problems.
During the preoperative examinations, Chrystian had to undergo a catheterization, which required the use of anticoagulant drugs for six months, making it impossible to perform a transplant surgery during this period.
