Singer wants to bring the public closer to her work by showing the creation process of the new album, which has gained prominence on the music charts
Days after the official release of the album Cashew – published on August 19th –, the singer and composer Liniker stated that he is producing a documentary about his new album.
According to her, the idea is to show the entire process of creating the work. The information was revealed by Liniker during an appearance on the program Seal Interviewpresented by Fernanda Catarina (Seal) in TV Day.
[as pessoas] You will be able to understand how the album is made. I want to give the public the experience of living a creative process with me. I called a documentary filmmaker that I really like, Sapphire Moreirafrom Bahia, who just won the [festival de cinema] Sundance. I wanted to make those who listen to me feel more intimate with me”, said the singer.
Who is Caju?
Liniker’s new album was a success immediately after its release. Cashew has already surpassed 15 million plays on iTunes, 6 million of which were in the first 24 hours alone.
Recorded in analog format, on tape, the work has 14 tracks in total – 13 of which are among the 100 most listened to in Brazil.
During the interview, Liniker gave more details about the name of the album and the character she created for it:
Once at a party, I was dancing, looking beautiful, and a girl came up to me and said: ‘Can I tell you something? Your mouth looks like a cashew’. I stood in the mirror afterwards, looking at it, and started researching the fruit. Then I thought: if I were someone else, Cashew would be a good name for an alter ego”, she said.
The singer also revealed that she will launch products in honor of the album, such as a cashew fragrance home spray and also caps.
On the album, Liniker features collaborations with names such as Lulu Santos, Pabllo Vittar, Anavitoria, BaianaSystem and Tropkillaz.
Asked by Foquinha if she considers the album “more pop than ever”, the artist confirmed it, but said she was not limited to the style.
I can sing whatever I want, I am a composer and music producer, who listens to and researches music. I have the gift of experimenting,” said Liniker.
