Oasis on Weezer’s setlist
According to Setlist.FM (via NME), the Weezer performed a version of “Wonderwall” nine times in 2018. Rivers Cuomo also made an acoustic version of “Champagne Supernova”
To the NME, Cuomo said: “We did a whole set of covers of Oasis under the pseudonym Goat Punishment [em 1998]”.
“It was a real learning experience, because it came right after the [Pinkerton, de 1996]which is a very painful, personal, confessional and musically progressive album. I started to get interested in Oasis because they’re the opposite of that — very broad, universal lyrics, and simple songs with chords that anyone can play. And I really wanted to understand the way they did things, so we learned a bunch of their songs and did a show,” he continued.
