Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne struggled with surgery for drug use in the past
Ozzy Osbourne underwent spinal surgery in June this year and faced difficulties. As revealed in a radio interview SiriusXM (via Earth), required four usual doses of anesthesia before the procedure.
The operation was to remove and realign pins in his neck and back that had been in his body since 2003, when he suffered a tricycle accident. Others were placed in 2019 after a fall suffered at home.
The difficulty sleeping happened due to the use of drugs in the past, which would have made the singer more resistant to sedatives. “The anesthesia guy was saying, ‘How long have you been in music?’ He said it’s been many years and I kept talking. He asked, ‘Why haven’t you slept yet?’. I needed four doses of the usual two full syringes. they put someone to sleep,” he explained.
osbourne stopped drugs and argued, “I got real. One of the main reasons I turned to my family is because I’m not completely out of my mind anymore.”
A source close to the family osbourne stated that the singer would go through a “long recovery” after the procedure.
“Ozzy is 73 years old and any kind of surgery when you get older is difficult. This is very important. The neck and back pins placed when he had a fall in 2019 will be realigned. He has been in a lot of pain.”
osbourne has suffered from health problems caused by accidents in recent years. The 73-year-old singer has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease since 2020.
“I feel better now that I confessed [aos meus fãs] about having Parkinson’s,” the metal icon said in an interview that month. “Hiding something is hard – you never feel right. You feel guilty. I’m not good with secrets. I can’t walk with him anymore. It’s like I’m running out of excuses,” said the singer.
