Third band to perform at this Rock in Rio also appeared in the first edition of the festival, in 1985, the Paralamas of success respected the script of memories: they opened the show on the stage of Mundo, this Sunday at 4.50 pm, in Cidade do Rock, with the images of the exhibition from almost 40 years ago, and the first song sung was Vital and his motorbikethe band’s first hit, in 1983.
Immediately after, the leader Herbert Vianna he noticed the passing of time: he asked the audience who had been at the show in January 1985 and, faced with widespread responses, concluded, ironically: “ah, you are the grandchildren of those people!”
But the journey through time continued, with hits like Sailor’s apple, A Brazilian AND floodedduring which he cited Long live the alternative societyby Raúl Seixas. Other older ones were left for the final part of the show: Eyeglasses AND My mistakewhich Herbert seemed to sing with even more enthusiasm.
Before that, the musician paid tribute to foreign guitarists and to Lulu Santos, who performed on Saturday: “the greatest guitarist ever born in this part of the planet,” he praised.
