Gusttavo Lima Case: Plane Seized by Police for a Value of Up to R$23 Million

THE Court of Justice of Pernambuco (TJPE) ordered the arrest of the singer Gustavo Lima this Monday, 23. The arrest is part of the same operation that arrested Deolane Bezerra, Operation Integration, which is investigating an alleged money laundering scheme involving gambling. The singer allegedly used his private plane to “provide shelter to fugitives,” who are the target of the investigation.

On September 4th the The singer’s plane was seized by the Civil Police of Sao PauloThe plane is registered to the singer’s company, Balada Eventos e Produções Ltda.

• The aircraft is a Cessna Citation XLS with the prefix PR-TEN. It was produced in 2008 by Cessna Aircraft, has a capacity of 8 passengers and can fly at 800 km/h;
• The cabin is spacious, with a length of 5.64 meters, a width of 1.68 meters and a height of 1.73 meters, allowing passengers to move around comfortably;
• The aircraft seats are equipped with individual TVs, audio clips and real-time flight tracking with arrival time indication, as well as universal power outlets, iPad and telephone;
• Prices for the planes vary depending on the year of production and the model, but can cost an average of 5.3 million dollars, the equivalent of R$ 29 million when converted into reais.

What does the arrest warrant say?

Judge Andrea Calado da Cruz, of the 12th Criminal Court of Recife, issued this Monday, 23, the preventive arrest warrant for Gusttavo Lima. Among the reasons given are the receipt and concealment of money from betting and the reception of two suspects: José André da Rocha Neto, partner of Vai de Bet, and his wife, Aislla Sabrina Rocha.

“It is imperative to emphasize that Nivaldo Batista Lima [nome verdadeiro de Gusttavo Lima]harboring fugitives, demonstrates an alarming lack of regard for justice. Your extensive financial relationships with these individuals, which include suspicious movements, raise serious questions about your involvement in criminal activity. Your company’s connection to the money laundering network suggests a commitment that cannot be ignored,” the judge wrote in the document.

During the investigation, the Civil Police affirmed that Esportes da Sorte, one of the companies investigated in Operation Integration, would use Balada Eventos – a company in which Gusttavo Lima is a partner – and two other companies to launder money.
