“Luau MTV” returns in a special edition under the leadership of Bella Campos

The new version will be recorded on the coast of Ceará and will feature an unprecedented collaboration between Marcelo Falcão and L7nnon by the sea

MTV is about to launch a special edition of “Luau MTV”, a program that had enormous success in the 2000s. The new version will be hosted by Bella Campos, Pedro Scooby and Sarah Oliveira.

In the past, the attraction featured in the broadcaster’s summer programming and was based on an acoustic format created by Grupo Abril. Now, the new version will be recorded on Preá beach, Ceará, sponsored by Corona to celebrate 10 years of Mexican beer in the country.

“Corona is a brand that was born on the beach and embodies the essence of nature. When we think of summer, the sun and the sea, music is always very present. Therefore, when we look for a way to celebrate such a special year – the brand 10 in Brazil: these elements, of course, led us to remember this iconic program. It is incredible to be together with MTV to unite the present and the past in a unique project,” said Gabriela Gallo, marketing director of the company.

“Corona Luau MTV” will bring an unprecedented partnership for a northeast beach show: artists L7nnon and Marcelo Falcão (O Rappa). Additionally, the program will feature behind-the-scenes trivia as Scooby watches and special interviews with Sarah. The general presentation will be entrusted to Bella.

The reinterpretation of the program will debut later this year.

About the attraction

“Luau MTV” was one of MTV Brasil’s main music programs, featuring laid-back performances from the most popular artists of the 1990s and 2000s, including international names. The format featured unprecedented acoustic performances with guitar and percussion.

The first edition aired in 1997, followed by others presented by different VJs of the house, such as Carla Lamarca, Cuca Lazzarotto, Fernanda Lima and also Sarah Oliveira.

Over the years, the program has featured intimate performances by Ivete Sangalo (1998), Charlie Brown Jr. (1999), Cássia Eller (2002) and Nando Reis (2007). The latest edition highlighted the band Raimundos in 2012.
