The actress claims she was not aware of the contractual clauses she signed as a child
The trial is underway at the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro
Larissa Manoela has taken legal action against the independent record label Deckdisk, with which she has a lifetime contract signed by her parents when she was 11 years old. The case has been filed at the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro and, according to information published on Wednesday (8/1) by Folha de S. Paulo, the actress seeks to break the agreement.
The artist claims not to be aware of the contractual clauses and says she is surprised to discover that the relationship would only end with her death. The fine foreseen for termination is considered high and the contract does not provide for detailed reporting of the sums collected on digital platforms. On Spotify, Larissa Manoela has more than 200 thousand monthly listeners.
The contract prevents a return to a musical career
According to the contract, Larissa can only release music via Deckdisk. Since 2019, the year he stopped his music career, he has no longer had access to financial information from streaming platforms.
The actress’s lawyer confirmed that “the document relating to responsibilities is missing”. According to her, Larissa never received financial reports and did not receive any amounts related to the contract. “The terms are unfair and illegal,” he said.
The judge in charge of the case, Mario Cunha Olinto Filho, considered the process delicate and established the stage at which evidence should be presented before making a decision.
Family conflicts and financial independence
The trial comes months after Larissa Manoela reported a financial conflict with her parents in an interview with Globo’s Fantástico, in August 2023. The actress reported that part of her fortune was managed by her parents, with whom had finally severed ties.
Larissa’s mother, Silvana Taques, denied the accusations in an interview on the SBT program Fofocalizando, saying she was never interested in her daughter’s money.
In a statement to Vogue magazine, the artist said he has rebuilt his support network with close people and friends. “Today I have the family I chose. We belong to this universe that God sent,” he declared.
