Classic dos Secos & Molhados gets a new version, which hits music platforms this Tuesday, the 21st
Arrives on music platforms this Tuesday, January 21st, the new version of Ritchie for “Fala”, a classic from the repertoire of Dry & Wet. The new recording features the very special participation of Ney Matogrossosharing the vocals with the English artist.
After the version of “Ando meio desligado”, released in April 2023, Ritchie now brings a new arrangement to another emblematic song from the 1970s.

When it came time to choose the songs that would be part of the re-recording repertoire, I decided to highlight the ones that had the greatest impact on me when I arrived in Brazil, more than 50 years ago. My primary reference was The Mutantsbut the Dry & Weton the other hand, was the first Brazilian pop phenomenon that I witnessed, as soon as I arrived here. The group’s debut album ended with ‘Fala’, a psychedelic song that always caught my attention. The lyrics spoke deeply to me because I was still taking my first steps in the Portuguese language, which I learned little by little, and by ear. ‘If I don’t understand, I won’t respond, so I listen…’ – Ritchie
Ritchie had already made two other versions of “Fala”: in the commemorative project So Bakedin honor of the Dry & Wet (2002), and on his own live DVD, released in 2009. “I started including ‘Fala’ in my shows and it was very successful: people recognized it and sang along”, he recalled.

Participation by Ney Matogrosso
The idea of inviting Ney Matogrosso to share the vocals came during the participation of Ritchie node High Hours Program which celebrated the singer’s career, in May 2023.
“The invitation took place on the Serginho Groisman. I already knew that the Ritchie sang this song. He asked me if I was up for it and I said, of course!”, he said. Ney.

Provoked by the singer, Ritchie announced right there that the two would do the collaboration that now hits the platforms. “I met the Ney in the dressing room and asked if he would record ‘Fala’ with me, half-jokingly. I thought maybe he couldn’t, but he accepted right away and even asked me, during the program: ‘Don’t you have anything to announce?’”, he joked. Ritchie.
“I sang ‘Fala’ again on the show Bandit Kisswhich debuted in 2009, and I also included it in the voice and piano show that I do with Leandro Braga. In fact, now I feel much freer to sing it than before, because I had to stay contained in the arrangement made for the songs. Dry & Wetright?”, he concluded Ney Matogrosso.
About the song, Ritchie he added: “Now that the opportunity has arisen to re-record it with the Neywith a new arrangement by my producer and keyboardist Eron Guarnieri and the guitarist Renato Galozziit occurred to me that the lyrics of this song could not be more current. It was a luxury! I hope you like it.”
Along with the single, the music video for “Fala” and the making of the song debut on YouTube, both recorded at the Biscoito Fino studio, directed by Paulo Henrique Fontenelle.
