With unprecedented material, Borrowed Time: Lennon’s Last Decade follows the artist’s solo career, the relationship with Yoko Ono and his death in 1980
The documentary Borrowed Time: Lennon’s Last Decadeabout John Lennonwon an official trailer this Thursday (13). Production brings archive images, unpublished interviews and reports of people from the artist’s daily life to explore the separation of Beatlesand the solo paths of Lennon.
Follow the legend while it evolves beyond Beatlescreating revolutionary music and positioning itself in the anti-war protests that would make it one of the most influential pop culture icons of all time, ”says the official synopsis.
Borrowed Time: Lennon’s Last Decade also seeks to “clarify the truth behind many famous moments of John Lennon”. Check out the following trailer (via NME).
The last decade of John Lennon
The documentary accompanies the musician at the time of the release of the first solo album, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Bandin 1970, until his death ten years later, in 1980. During this period, Lennon Published the song with criticism of his friend Paul McCartney, ‘How of You Sleep?’in addition to questioning and provocative successes as ‘Power to the People’ and ‘Imagine’.
BORROWED TIME also addresses a dispute between the artist and the president of the United States, Richard Nixonwho tried to deport Lennon. In addition, one of the highlights is the controversial relationship of the musician with Yoko Onotheme of great debate among fans. “For the first time, the complete story of how John and Yoko If they met it is revealed, ”says the documentary summary.
The production was directed by the British Alan G. Parkerwho has worked on another work about the Beatles: It was fifty years ago today… sgt pepper and beyond (2017). Borrowed Time: Lennon’s Last Decade will hit the theaters of the United Kingdom on May 2, 2025. Information on a possible release in Brazil was not disclosed.
