Spoilers ahead for the first night of America has talent qualified for season 17.
America has talent skip the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the competition with season 17, which means competitors are left with only one performance left to try to make it to the finals after the audition. Only two of the eleven artists from night 1 of qualifiers will advance, and those eleven were talented enough that voters had to make a tough decision. After his qualifying performance of another original song (“Kiss Goodbye All Night”), Judge Simon Cowell noted that many artists whose songs reached number 1 after appearing in AG go away and don’t compete anymore. He told Milligan that she had his “absolute respect” to come back and stay in the competition.
When Milligan reached out to the press after demolishing the house with “Kiss Goodbye All Night”, I asked him if he ever thought about walking away with his success and never doing it again. AG. He shared:
Not at all. From the first moment I took the stage of America’s Got Talent, all I wanted to do was go back and stand in front of that crowd and stand in front of those judges again. It’s so fun to feel the energy of the crowd and to know that millions of people are watching. Couldn’t wait to go back.

What are the prospects for Drake Milligan? I’ve been in Nashville for a few years writing and I have some new stuff and I hope I can do one.
