Ian Paice, Deep Purple drummer, reflects on the newly failed vocalist’s personality and reveals an idea that he suggested in the 2000s
First of all, IAN PAICE Makes a point of making it clear: Ozzy Osbourne It was much smarter and more shrewd than most people imagine. And he constantly had ideas about songs, records and tours – so much so that, despite health limitations, he remained active practically until the end of his life, at 76, on July 22.
The drummer of Deep Purple It offered this scenario about Ozzy in a recent interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph (via Whiplash). Paice also spoke obviously about his band, who will have the music “Child in Time” included in the final season of Stranger Thingsof the relationship with Black Sabbath and LED ZEPPELIN.
In this respect, the drummer even revealed that Ozzy suggested a joint tour between them, bringing together the “Holy Trinity” of British heavy rock: Purple, Sabbath and Zeppelin.
According to Paice, Ozzy commented on this at the last meeting between them, about 20 years ago, at a ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland. The idea of the vocalist was that each one would present himself for at least 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the plan never left the paper.

Paice then took the opportunity to regret the death of his friend and describe how he felt when he received in the news. Besides, of course, to exalt Ozzy’s insight:
“I think our generation of musicians is at the age when when you turn on TV, I almost expect another one to come … but I will say the following about Ozzy: He was a much smarter guy than many people imagined. His bat -devoured maniac persona had nothing to do with the truth.”
The drummer added:
“He was a much more brain man than people painted him. He was very intelligent. He was thinking of things all the time.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s death
Ozzy died of a heart attack at home in England. He suffered from coronary artery disease and Parkinson. Black Sabbath vocalist had said goodbye to the stage about two weeks earlier, at the event Back to the beginningin Birmingham.
