Streaming service Premier and production company Fresh Heads Production have unveiled the debut poster for upcoming comedy series My Dad Is the Mayor.
The new show is scheduled to launch on the streaming platform this autumn, with the exact release date set to be announced by the creators at a later time.
The story focuses on an ambitious public official who dreams of becoming the mayor of a provincial city. His political ambitions hit a wall when a major scandal destroys his career, leading to his removal from the election ballot, his dismissal from his job, and his expulsion from his political party.
Orphan blackmail scheme
Left in desperation following the collapse of his career, the official accidentally hits Varya, a daring 12-year-old girl who lives in an orphanage. The child escapes the accident uninjured and quickly uses the incident to her advantage by blackmailing the disgraced politician.
Varya demands that the official help her track down her grandmother. In return, she agrees to pretend to be his ideal daughter to bolster his public campaign and help repair his damaged image.
Cast and production team
Oleg Kirichenko directed the series, which marks his directorial debut. The project stars Roman Mayakin, Arina Savostyanova, and Darya Ursulyak in lead roles, alongside a supporting cast of actors.
Lead actor Roman Mayakin previously starred in the fantasy comedy series Sergiy vs. the Unholy. Actress Darya Ursulyak is known for her role in the television legal drama Your Honor, while young actress Arina Savostyanova recently appeared in the series Landyshi.
The comedy series is produced by Fresh Heads Production in partnership with Premier, a Russian online streaming service that specializes in original television programming and films.
The creators will reveal the official premiere date for My Dad Is the Mayor on Premier ahead of its autumn release.
