Studio TOHO animation released a teaser for Narumi's Work Week, a new anime spin-off of Kaiju No. 8 premiering Sept. 5. The video debuted on the TOHO animation YouTube channel.
The four-episode project centers on Gen Narumi, captain of the First Division and one of the strongest kaiju exterminators in Japan. Production I.G, the studio behind the main Kaiju No. 8 anime, produced the spin-off to show Narumi's life outside of work.
Episodes will launch every Saturday on the Crunchyroll streaming service.
Life Outside Exterminating Kaiju
The original Kaiju No. 8 series depicts Japan under constant attack from giant monsters. Street cleaner Kafka Hibino gains the ability to transform into a monster after cleanup operations following kaiju battles.
Two seasons of the globally popular anime have aired so far. The premiere date for the third season is currently unknown.
