The digital collection, compiled by editor and neural artist Nelly Sverdlova, offers thematic images and festive greetings for the traditional August 29 celebration in Russia. Nut Spas marks the final folk holiday of the month, following Honey Spas and Apple Spas earlier in August.
Historically known as Bread Spas, the date coincides with the end of the summer grain harvest. Believers and celebrants mark the day by taking bread and nuts to church to be blessed, before sharing specialized meals at home and wishing family members a prosperous autumn.

Additional messages highlighted the peaceful nature of late August. One wish described the holiday as smelling of wood and honey, inviting relatives to gather around the table for slow, kind conversations without rushing.
Further greetings celebrated nature's generosity, comparing the holiday to an old fairy tale filled with the smell of cinnamon and children's laughter. Another text observed that happiness resides in simple moments like drinking tea with jam and sharing kind words.

In Russian culture, the term Spas refers to three folk holidays occurring in August that coincide with Christian feasts dedicated to Jesus Christ as the Savior. The first celebration, Honey Spas, takes place on August 14, followed by Apple Spas on August 19, and concluding with Nut Spas on August 29.
Nut Spas is also known as Bread Spas, Linen Spas, and Spas on Canvas. Unlike Easter, its date remains fixed on August 29 every year because it honors the feast of the Image of Christ Not Made by Hands.
Christian tradition holds that a painter was sent to depict Jesus, but Christ's face radiated light so intense that the artist could not paint it. Jesus then washed his face and wiped it with a cloth, which miraculously retained his likeness. The cloth became a revered relic known as the Savior Not Made by Hands.
The sacred cloth was originally taken to Edessa, located in modern-day Şanlıurfa, Turkey, where it was credited with healing people. In 944, the relic was transferred from Edessa to Constantinople, now Istanbul.
