Russian pop star Nyusha has shared photographs of her daughter, Seraphima-Simba, celebrating her eighth birthday during a family trip aboard a yacht.

The 36-year-old singer, whose legal name is Anna Shurochkina, posted the images to her official Instagram account to mark the milestone with her fans.

The pictures show the mother and daughter spending time together out on the water. In one image, the musician wore a bright two-piece outfit featuring an open-collar shirt and matching shorts as she embraced the young girl, who wore a pink floral-print dress for the occasion.

In a heartfelt message accompanying the pictures, the performer wrote that her child was eight years old that day. She addressed Seraphima-Simba directly, describing her as an incredible, amazing and wonderful child, and added that the list of loving words could continue endlessly before telling the youngster how deeply she loved her.

Pop career and family life

Nyusha is one of Russia's most recognisable pop artists, having first captured national attention in the late 2000s after winning a major televised singing contest. Over the following decade, she became a permanent fixture on Russian radio and music television with a run of chart-topping dance-pop tracks and high-energy stage performances.

Born in Moscow into a musical family, the songwriter adopted her stage moniker early in her career and later changed her official paperwork to reflect the name. Alongside her studio releases and concert tours, she has served as a mentor on national television talent shows and frequently shares glimpses of her domestic life with millions of online supporters.

Her latest birthday update was published on Instagram, the photo-sharing platform owned by United States technology firm Meta. Russian authorities officially designated Meta as an extremist organisation and banned its core platforms in 2022, though many public figures and entertainers continue to maintain established accounts on the network.

Tributes to family members

The birthday tribute to Seraphima-Simba is not the first time the singer has turned to social media to highlight important personal occasions with her relatives. In September, Nyusha published photos alongside her brother to help him celebrate his 29th birthday.

In those earlier images, her brother posed smiling next to the singer. Nyusha captioned that post with a lighthearted reference to testosterone, drawing affectionate comments from fans who follow her regular updates on family life.
