Spanish radio network Onda Cero launched its 2026-2027 broadcast season on Monday, August 31, introducing a major overhaul across its morning, evening, overnight, and weekend schedules.
The network, owned by Spanish media group Atresmedia, began its new programming grid with a special live broadcast of its flagship morning show Mas de uno from Ceuta, an autonomous Spanish city located on the North African coast.
Network leadership designed the new broadcast lineup to strengthen efforts against disinformation and expand local reporting capacity. Onda Cero maintains a heavy regional presence across its daily grid through specialized regional programs and frequent local news updates.
Local programming includes Mas de uno local from 12:20 to 14:00, followed by La brujula regional between 19:20 and 19:40. The network also broadcasts dedicated territorial news bulletins throughout the morning at 07:20, 08:20, 10:03, and 11:03.
Morning news and political analysis
The morning broadcast block centers on Mas de uno, structured around co-hosts Rafa Latorre and Carlos Alsina. Latorre takes charge of the initial news and analysis segment starting at 06:00 every weekday morning.
Latorre leads a panel focused on political and economic analysis, featuring new analyst sign-on Jose Ignacio Wert, who is tasked with reviewing the print press. The early morning segment La Espana que madruga adds Natalia Hernandez to a team that includes Ruben Amon, Carlos Rodriguez Braun, Felix Jose Casillas, and Wert.
Journalist Daniel Ramirez takes on an expanded role leading into the station's main morning debate panel. The expanded political discussion section introduces new commentators Ketty Garat, Rosa Belmonte, Leyre Iglesias, David Mejia, and Daniel Gascon.
These new additions join established Onda Cero columnists and analysts including Francisco Marhuenda, Pilar Cernuda, Carmen Morodo, Joaquin Manso, Toni Bolano, and Jose Antonio Vera.
Culture and entertainment programming
At 10:00 each morning, the broadcast transitions from news to culture and entertainment following an on-air telephone conversation between co-hosts Latorre and Alsina. Alsina then assumes sole hosting duties for the remainder of the morning block.
The mid-morning culture show adds linguist Elena Herraiz, known online as Linguriosa, to analyze Spanish language topics. Comedian Anibal Gomez joins the comedy team alongside Goyo Jimenez, Paula Pua, Leonor Lavado, and Agustin Jimenez.
The show retains its core group of recurring contributors, including Manu Marlasca, Luis Rendueles, JF Leon, Irene Ramirez, Emilio Domenech, Javier Traite, Jorge Freire, Alberto Aparici, Santi Garcia Cremades, and chef David de Jorge in the gastronomy section.
Key weekly cultural features remain in their established slots, including the Radioficcion radio theater segment on Wednesdays and La cultureta cultural panel on Fridays.
Evening news and afternoon magazines
The second major shift in Onda Cero's daily lineup occurs in the evening slot with the appointment of Marta Garcia Aller as director and presenter of La brujula. The prime-time evening news program airs from 19:00 to 23:30.
Garcia Aller leads a refreshed news and current affairs format designed ahead of Spain's upcoming general elections. The evening show brings in commentators Pedro G. Cuartango, Nativel Preciado, Olga Viza, Angel Villarino, and Gemma Martinez.
In the afternoon, host Jaime Cantizano continues leading Por fin from 15:00 to 19:00. The afternoon magazine program combines popular science, culture, and humor.
Cantizano's team features returning panelists Alaska, Bibiana Fernandez, Boris Izaguirre, Luis Quevedo, Ignacio Varela, Susana Diaz, Celia Villalobos, Ketty Garat, Pablo Pombo, Pilar Velasco, Angel Antonio Herrera, and Juan Luis Arsuaga. The show expands its roster with psychiatrist Luis Gutierrez Rojas and comedian Fran Ramirez.
Sports coverage and overnight shows
Late-night sports coverage remains concentrated in Radioestadio noche, hosted by Edu Pidal from 23:30 to 01:30 every evening. On weekends, Edu Garcia takes over to direct sports broadcasts under the main Radioestadio banner.
Overnight hours feature a team led by presenter Gemma Ruiz to accompany late-night listeners. The overnight grid integrates several specialized thematic programs across different days of the week.
Relationships show Lovin', hosted by Nacho Arias, expands its weekly schedule to air on both Mondays and Wednesdays. Mystery investigation program El colegio invisible, hosted by Lorenzo Fernandez Bueno and Laura Falco, broadcasts on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
On Friday nights, the station airs an extended edition of the cultural program La cultureta Gran Reserva, hosted by Ruben Amon.
Weekend schedule and returning hosts
Onda Cero completes its new seasonal schedule on Saturday, September 5, with the return of veteran broadcaster Julia Otero to head Julia en la onda during weekend broadcasts.
The Saturday and Sunday lineup features returning travel program Onda viajera hosted by Carles Lamelo, as well as animal welfare show Como el perro y el gato hosted by Carlos Rodriguez.
The weekend schedule also maintains long-running popular science broadcast La rosa de los vientos, captained for another season by co-hosts Bruno Cardenosa and Silvia Casasola.
