Spanish actress Paula Echevarría has debuted a beige short trench coat from her latest Primark collection as an autumn wardrobe update.

The Spanish television star combined the hip-length design with fitted black capri trousers from H&M and leather ballet flats from Chanel, presenting a transitional outfit suitable for the changing season.

The new coat replaces the traditional long trench silhouette with a cropped cut that ends at the hip. It features double-breasted buttons, shoulder tabs, and a matching fabric belt tied around the waist to define the frame.

A key detail of the design is its high collar, which can be worn raised around the neck, as Echevarría chose to wear it, or folded down for a traditional trench look. Constructed from material resistant to light rain, the coat offers practical protection against sudden autumn showers while its neutral beige tone coordinates easily with other wardrobe colors.

Features of the Primark trench coat

The short trench comes as part of Echevarría's ongoing design partnership with Irish fashion retailer Primark. Founded in Dublin in 1969, Primark is known for affordable high-street clothing and regularly collaborates with style figures to launch exclusive collections.

Echevarría is widely recognized for her roles in popular Spanish television dramas including Velvet and Gran Reserva. Over her career, she has established herself as a prominent style icon whose fashion choices frequently blend high-street basics with luxury designer pieces.

Trench coats traditionally originated as protective outerwear for British military personnel during the First World War, featuring double-breasted fronts, storm flaps, and waist belts. Modern cropped versions retain those classic utility features while providing a lighter silhouette for transitional weather.

Styling capri trousers for autumn

To complete the look, Echevarría selected a pair of slim-fit black capri trousers from Swedish retailer H&M that fall just below the knee. The outfit demonstrates how cropped trousers, which were widely worn during spring and summer, can transition into early autumn styling.

Capri pants were first created in 1948 by fashion designer Sonja de Lennart and became a staple of mid-century fashion. Their modern resurgence provides a streamlined lower-body silhouette that pairs smoothly with structured outerwear.

Alongside the H&M pants, Echevarría selected high-end accessories to complete her outfit. She wore black leather ballet flats from French fashion house Chanel, carried a structured shoulder bag from British leather goods label DeMellier, and added dark sunglasses from Polaroid.

Extending summer wardrobe pieces

The combination of beige outerwear and black trousers maintains a clean neutral palette. The contrast in proportions between the cropped coat and fitted capri pants gives the ensemble a contemporary feel.

By pairing a short trench coat with cropped trousers, Echevarría illustrates that summer clothing does not need to be packed away immediately as temperatures drop. A lightweight trench coat provides sufficient protection to keep warm-weather items in rotation for several weeks before colder weather requires winter coats.
