The couple appeared in high spirits throughout their romantic excursion. Keely flashed a broad smile as they walked together, while Pierce stopped to warmly greet an overzealous fan, wrapping an arm around him for a selfie beside a waiting car.

Pierce dressed in a black rollneck jumper layered beneath a dark checked blazer that featured a smart red pocket square. He paired the look with dark jeans, black shoes, and tinted sunglasses, keeping his silver hair swept back.

Exhibitions at Circular Quay

Their cultural itinerary centered on two major displays within The Rocks. They first toured the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, which sits on the edge of Sydney Harbour at Circular Quay and showcases contemporary works by Australian and international artists.

They also spent time at Banksy Limitless at 155 George Street. The immersive exhibition made its Australian debut in April and features hundreds of works inspired by the elusive British street artist, including certified pieces, large-scale murals, sculptures, digital installations, and a hologram presentation.

The art tour aligned with Pierce's own creative background. Before launching his acting career, the Irish actor worked as a commercial artist in London, where his interest in painting first developed. He is now an accomplished painter who has exhibited his colourful artwork publicly.

Quarter-century marriage

The outing comes shortly after the couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They originally tied the knot at Ballintubber Abbey in Ireland in August 2001, seven years after meeting at a party in Mexico in 1994.

Recalling their early days, Keely previously told People magazine that she found the actor captivating, noting the mischievous sparkle in his eyes when they first met.

Pierce has been equally open about his devotion to his wife over their decades together. "I found a great woman in Keely Shaye," he previously said. "Not if I searched a million times over would I find one as good."

Speaking to Fox News about their relationship, Pierce reflected on how Keely supports his career. "She still makes my heart sing and she still makes my world turn," he said. "She allows me to go out into the world and create what I do as an actor, and that takes strength and stamina. We just enjoy each other's company."

The couple share two sons, Dylan, 29, and Paris, 25, and are widely regarded as having one of Hollywood's most enduring marriages.

Pierce was previously married to Australian actress Cassandra Harris for 11 years until her death from ovarian cancer in 1991. He adopted her children, Charlotte and Christopher, and the couple had a biological son, Sean. Tragedy struck the family again in 2013 when Charlotte died from the same disease that claimed her mother.

Return to television in MobLand

Pierce's trip to Sydney comes ahead of his return to television as crime patriarch Conrad Harrigan in the second season of the Paramount+ drama MobLand.

First-look images released for the upcoming ten-episode season show Conrad being patched up by his wife Maeve, played by Helen Mirren, following a violent altercation. The new season follows the Harrigan family as they fight to maintain a united front against rivals threatening their fractured criminal empire.

Tom Hardy is also set to return as the family's street-smart fixer, Harry Da Souza, despite reports suggesting the actor will not continue if the series is renewed for a third season.
