Poppy Jamie announces pregnancy after late miscarriages

Television presenter and wellness guru Poppy Jamie has revealed she is seven months pregnant with her first child, a year after suffering two late miscarriages during what she described as a multi-year fertility journey.

The 36-year-old broadcaster shared the announcement on Instagram alongside a photograph cradling her baby bump, confirming that she has arrived in her third trimester.

"I’ve been on a multi year fertility journey and sadly lost two pregnancies at 5 months," Jamie told her followers. "So here we are third time lucky!!"

She described the process as a difficult ride, adding: "But in the tragedy, magic and hope have shined through in the most incredible ways."

Jamie expressed deep gratitude for the medical staff who assisted her throughout her pregnancy journey, describing them as "magic too." She also extended a message of solidarity to her followers, writing: "Sending lots of love to anyone who relates to this post - I hope my story can help anyone who’s been through similar."

The announcement drew warm responses from prominent figures in entertainment. Pop singer Nicola Roberts of the British group Girls Aloud, who recently gave birth to her first child, expressed her delight, writing: "Lovely news Poppy ✨ so happy for you xx." Model and actress Suki Waterhouse, described as Jamie's best friend, responded to the post with "Popsss" alongside a star and heart emoji.

Coping with devastating pregnancy loss

In an accompanying essay published on the digital platform Substack, Jamie explained why she chose not to speak publicly about the pregnancy during its earlier stages, noting that it had taken time to process her previous losses.

"At nearly five months I sadly discovered major complications and both of them were unable to continue," Jamie wrote of her previous pregnancies. "After the devastating loss that split me in two, I was unsure of my capability to have a safe pregnancy."

She acknowledged that while her current pregnancy feels like a blessing, it has also been accompanied by a "cautionary cloud."

The announcement follows a candid video Jamie posted in February, in which she spoke publicly about her reproductive struggles for the first time. In that disclosure, she revealed that doctors had diagnosed her with "very low fertility" approximately four years ago.

Following that diagnosis, a mentor who practiced tarot card reading told Jamie that she would become pregnant. Although Jamie initially believed pregnancy was biologically impossible, she conceived unexpectedly four months later.

Finding healing through writing and reflection

That initial pregnancy ended in a heartbreaking loss at five months. Six weeks later, Jamie discovered she was expecting again, but suffered a second late miscarriage at the exact same five-month mark.

"The first one was heartbreaking, the second one was being ripped into small pieces and it was utterly devastating," Jamie recalled of the ordeal.

In February the wellness guru shared a video detailing her baby losses for the first time, telling fans that it was around four years ago when she was 'diagnosed with very low fertility'

Jamie began to heal after interviewing a psychic while researching her book, The Book of Magical Living. The psychic shared a message that her unborn son remained present with her and that "it wasn't the right time for him to come to the earth."

She explained that writing the book allowed her to explore historical wisdom and practice rituals, filling her emptiness with optimism. "For anyone going through their own fertility journey or feel like life has dimmed their spark for whatever reason, I hope the book reignites your hope in the way it did mine," she wrote.

A career in broadcasting and mental health wellness

Jamie first rose to television fame as a presenter for UK broadcast channels ITV2 and MTV. She subsequently transitioned into the health and wellness sector, launching the award-winning mindfulness application Happy Not Perfect and writing a best-selling book covering anxiety and self-love.

Through her work in mental health advocacy, Jamie has gained a widespread following that includes former Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh and pop singer Pixie Lott, solidifying her position as a leading voice in modern wellness.
