QVC host Rick Domeier is retiring at the end of 2026 after more than 30 years on the shopping network, he announced during his Rick St. Nick program as part of Christmas in July.
Domeier, 65, first joined QVC in October 1994 as a host trainee and became a permanent program host by April 1995. His current title is Senior Program Host.
"I heard it's fun, and I'm going to be retiring at the end of this year, end of December," Domeier told Us Weekly. He said he and his wife Amy concluded that "now's the perfect time" for the move.
Domeier said he wants to use the months remaining to express gratitude to colleagues and to "thank the most important person at QVC, which is the QVC customer, for having been with me and accepted me for what will be 32 years."
In a statement to the Daily Mail, he said his heart is "incredibly full" as he steps into the next chapter and that he is "so grateful for the love, the laughter, and the memories."
Plans After Retirement
Domeier said he and his wife have "a lot of travel ideas" and that he will attend his son's wedding next year. He is a father of two sons.
"I'm really into fitness and longevity for obvious reasons. I want to keep that going, so it's all about exploring and learning and then sharing," he said. He added that he wants to document the retirement experience to find out "what retirement is all about."
Final Months on Air
Before his December exit, Domeier will front a new program called Rick Hits The Road, broadcasting from cities across the country. The first stop is New Orleans, where he will be joined by Jimmy Stovall and Ali Carr.
He said he hopes his on-air farewell will be celebratory rather than somber. "I want it to be in person. I want it to be celebratory. I am excited about this next chapter. I want it to be more fun than sad."
Alongside his QVC career, Domeier pursued acting and theater, including membership in the Genesis Theater Company in Long Beach, California. He appeared in television series such as St. Elsewhere, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, and Days of Our Lives, and had minor roles in the films Teen Wolf (1985), Die Hard 2 (1990), and Girl, Interrupted (1999).
