Raquell Brown, the wife of Alaskan Bush People star Gabriel "Gabe" Brown, has filed for divorce after a seven-year marriage.
Court documents filed on September 22 state that the marital union is "irretrievably broken," according to a review by Us Weekly.
The couple share three children.
According to the filing, Raquell and Gabe, 36, have been residing in separate states since April. Raquell is living in Minnesota, while Gabe remains in Washington.
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for the television program for further comment.
Separation requests
In her filing, Raquell asked the court to divide their belongings and requested that both parties be held accountable for any debts incurred after their date of separation.
She has also requested the ability to seek temporary spousal support at an eventual trial, and asked the court to mandate that her estranged husband cover her legal fees and related expenses.
For the couple's three children, Raquell is seeking child support and funds for medical needs, as well as daycare costs and transportation fees for long distance trips.
Her requests also include provisions for future educational costs, naming both collegiate and vocational institutions.
Raquell has drawn up a parenting proposal that she is asking the court to approve and enforce.
Brother confirms split
Gabe's brother and fellow reality television star, Bear Brown, confirmed the separation in a video posted to TikTok on Tuesday.
"The reason I'm making this video is to let y'all guys know that, yes, Gabe is getting divorced, Gabe and Raquell are separating," Bear said.
Bear noted that he had previously posted a video earlier this year in which he relayed that the couple had denied they were splitting, but said that circumstances had since changed.
"Stuff happens, I don't want to... talk about their personal business at all, so I won't be doing any more videos about it... yes, they are getting a divorce now," he added.
The reality star expressed his hope that "everything can be done peacefully" and that both parties would focus on "what's best for the children."
Family tragedy and TV history
The divorce comes amid a difficult year for the Brown family following the death of Gabe's older brother, Matt Brown. Matt died by suicide at the age of 42 earlier this year.
The family rose to fame on Alaskan Bush People, an unscripted series that debuted on the Discovery Channel in 2014.
The show followed the unconventional lifestyle of patriarch Billy Brown, his wife Ami, and their seven children as they lived off the grid in the remote wilderness.
The family initially resided in the Alaskan bush before eventually relocating to a sprawling property in rural Washington state.
Gabe and Raquell's relationship was heavily featured on the program, with their romance first showcased for viewers during the 2018 season.
The couple exchanged vows in January 2019. A second wedding reception was filmed in front of the television cameras and aired on the show in 2020.
Reflecting on their nuptials during the television special, Gabe expressed deep affection for his wife.
"All of my nervousness, the pre-wedding jitters and all of that, it just stopped as soon as I saw Raquell walking down the aisle," he said.
"It was like I was coming through a storm on a dark night and all of a sudden I pulled into a nice, safe harbor."
