Crunchyroll has announced that season four of Rent-a-Girlfriend is now available with a Spanish dub, giving subscribers who prefer watching without subtitles the option to enjoy the new episodes in their language.
The romantic comedy anime, adapted from the manga by Reiji Miyajima, has built a dedicated following on the platform since its debut. The series currently holds a score of 3.8 out of 5 on Crunchyroll, reflecting steady approval from the community despite divided opinions about its main character.
A Story Built on Lies and Complicated Feelings
The show centers on Kazuya Kinoshita, a 20-year-old college student who is left heartbroken after his girlfriend breaks up with him just one month into their relationship. In a moment of desperation, he turns to a mobile app that lets users rent girlfriends by the hour.
Through the app he meets Chizuru Mizuhara, described as dazzling, polite, and seemingly perfect. The arrangement quickly spirals into something more complicated when Kazuya’s grandmother is hospitalized and meets Chizuru, believing her to be his real girlfriend.
From that point on, both are trapped in an escalating web of lies, forced to keep up the pretense in front of family and friends. The story unfolds through jealousy, the reappearance of ex-girlfriends, and a blurring line between paid companionship and genuine emotion.
