Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Arnold has announced his engagement to Stuart, his long-term partner of 23 years. The 56-year-old ITV entertainment presenter revealed the happy news on Instagram, sharing a rare photograph with his rarely-seen partner to mark the celebration.
In the photograph, Arnold was dressed in a traditional Scottish kilt paired with a bright pink fur sporran as he wrapped an arm around Stuart while both beamed for the camera. A second photograph showed their beloved pet Cockapoo, Clementine, joining in the celebrations while wearing a bow that read "I do too."
Arnold captioned the announcement post on Instagram with the phrase "The splice of life," adding a ring emoji alongside the image to confirm the engagement to his social media followers.
Celebrity colleagues send congratulations
The post quickly attracted a flood of congratulatory messages from Arnold's celebrity friends and television colleagues in the comments section. Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid led the tributes, writing, "THE BIGGEST BESTEST NEWS - massive congratulations and tons of love." Private life in London and studio confessions
Arnold has always kept his private life under wraps and has rarely posted any photos of himself and Stuart online. The couple have been together since the early noughties and live together with their pet pooch Clementine in London.
Although he keeps his personal life largely private, the television star does sometimes mention Stuart while broadcasting live on air in the Good Morning Britain studio. Back in August, he confessed to co-stars Kate Garraway and Adil Ray that the pair had gotten into an argument before he left for work. Telling his co-presenters about the disagreement, he said, "My other half and I have fallen out over a shower attachment!" leaving the pair in hysterics in the studio.

In 2024, Arnold opened up about his relationship and admitted that he would like to tie the knot soon. Speaking about their milestone at the time, he said, "We've been together for 19 years now my partner and I, it feels like five minutes, under water." He added, "Still no ring on my finger, but I'm waiting."
Arnold first found fame when he joined GMTV as its TV critic in 1997, appearing on the national commercial morning network. He later landed the Entertainment Editor role on Good Morning Britain when the breakfast show originally launched on ITV in 2014.
