Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have been spotted wearing matching diamond rings on a private jet and a luxury yacht, fuelling speculation that the couple are set to wed in Portugal this weekend.
Local press have claimed the ceremony will take place at the Quinta da Regaleira estate in Sintra, with one TV host naming the venue. However, the estate appears to be open to the public this weekend, casting doubt on the reports.
Rodriguez shared Instagram photos showing the pair aboard Ronaldo's private jet, both displaying their large diamond rings. The couple were also photographed boarding the footballer's luxury yacht in Majorca on Tuesday. Rodriguez wore a low-cut black vest, a red baseball cap, and carried a crocodile leather Birkin bag.
A Long-Planned Engagement
Ronaldo proposed last August after eight years of dating. Rodriguez announced the news on Instagram with the caption, "Yes, I do."
Ronaldo later told Piers Morgan that the proposal happened around 1 a.m., and was partly prompted by two of his children walking in as he was about to offer the ring. He said one of his friends had given him the ring to present to Rodriguez, and that he had not specifically planned to propose that night.
Ronaldo also told Morgan he had worked hard to find the right ring, saying Rodriguez had asked for a ring with a good stone and that he searched until he found what she loved.
Earlier, Ronaldo had told Morgan he intended to marry Rodriguez after this year's World Cup, saying he believed it was the right time and that she was the person he loves most. Portugal were eliminated in the Round of 16 by Spain. Ronaldo was seen wearing his ring during the tournament.
Family and Background
The couple have daughters Alana and Bella together. They also welcomed twins Eva Maria and Mateo through surrogacy. Bella had a twin brother named Angel, who passed away shortly after birth. Ronaldo has an older son, Cristiano Jr., from a previous relationship.
Rodriguez and Ronaldo met in 2016 when she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci shop in Madrid. The couple relocated to Saudi Arabia after Ronaldo signed for Al-Nassr in 2022.
