Health specialists at Roskachestvo's Competence Center for Functional Nutrition have advised people in Russia to adjust their daily diets ahead of the autumn season to strengthen immune defenses and maintain energy levels, Russian media outlet RT reported on Saturday.

The guidance recommends introducing seasonal vegetables into daily meals, highlighting pumpkin and carrots as essential autumnal choices. Specialists noted that both vegetables contain rich supplies of vitamin A and dietary fiber, which are necessary for supporting healthy immune function and ensuring smooth digestion during seasonal weather changes.
The recommendation also emphasizes incorporating fatty fish into the diet, identifying it as a valuable source of vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids. In addition, experts highlighted eggs as an effective food choice to help resolve vitamin D deficiencies and sustain physical energy as daylight hours diminish across northern regions.
Essential Minerals and Functional Foods
Specialists at Roskachestvo noted that poultry meat and seafood are effective choices to help replenish selenium reserves in the body. They also advised that beef, legumes and nuts contain high amounts of zinc, another vital micronutrient needed for metabolic balance and cellular repair.
Furthermore, experts encouraged Russians to pay attention to functional food products in their daily routine. Functional foods are items containing elevated concentrations of vitamins, mineral substances, dietary fiber and probiotics, which work together to foster healthy intestinal flora and support systemic health.
Roskachestvo functions as Russia's national quality monitoring organization, regularly testing consumer goods and publishing evidence-based nutritional guidance. As temperatures fall and autumn weather approaches across the country, proper dietary adjustments help shield the body against seasonal fatigue and respiratory infections.
Medical Warnings on Sudden Weight Loss
The dietary recommendations follow earlier health warnings from general practitioner and gastroenterologist Olga Chistik, who cautioned that sudden weight loss without intentional dieting should never be overlooked. She stated that unexpected weight drops are not always a simple consequence of psychological stress or routine dietary changes.
Chistik explained that unexplained weight reduction can serve as an early indicator of serious underlying medical conditions, including diabetes, oncological diseases or impaired gastrointestinal tract function. Medical specialists stress that any unexplained shift in body weight warrants thorough clinical evaluation alongside dietary improvements.
