Eva Mendes has announced that she and Ryan Gosling have adopted a rescue dog named Charlie, their second family pet.
Mendes, 52, shared the news on Instagram, posting photos of Charlie playing outside with their other dog, Magic. She also shared a short clip of herself in a light blue summer dress cuddling both dogs.
“Introducing Charlie, our newest member of our familia. We’re in love!” she wrote in her caption.
Mendes tagged California Doodle Rescue in the post, and the organization commented that the two dogs “have the best parents in town.”
Gosling, 45, who does not have an Instagram account, did not appear in the post. The couple also share daughters Esmeralda Amada, 11, and Amada Lee, 10, whom they keep out of the public eye.
The pair have been together since meeting on the set of the 2012 drama The Place Beyond the Pines. Gosling once reflected on filming together, saying that there were moments on the film where they were pretending to be a family and he did not want it to be pretend anymore.
The dog adoption came shortly after Gosling appeared at San Diego Comic-Con in late July to announce he would star as Ghost Rider in an upcoming Marvel film. Mendes herself appeared opposite Nicolas Cage in the 2007 Ghost Rider film.
One day after Gosling’s casting announcement, Mendes reposted a fan edit on Instagram showing Gosling riding a motorcycle in The Place Beyond the Pines, captioning it “Love, Roxy” in a nod to her character from the original Ghost Rider film.
