Ryan Gosling is developing a new live-action film set in The Flintstones universe for Warner Bros. Pictures, focusing on an adult Bamm-Bamm Rubble.
The project is in its early stages of development and is currently searching for a screenwriter, according to a report by trade publication Deadline. Gosling is producing the feature alongside Jessie Henderson, his partner at production banner Open Invite.
While the story centers on the son of Barney and Betty Rubble as an adult, Warner Bros. Pictures has not announced whether Gosling will perform in front of the camera.

History of the Flintstones franchise
The characters originated as part of the animated television universe created by animation pioneers William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Production house Hanna-Barbera produced numerous historic series, including Yogi Bear, Jabberjaw, The Huckleberry Hound Show, and Scooby-Doo.
The original Flintstones series debuted in prime time in 1960. Although television audiences have not seen a new project starring the prehistoric family in recent years, central figures Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble, Wilma Flintstone, and Betty Rubble remain household names around the world.
The character of Bamm-Bamm previously took center stage alongside Fred and Wilma's daughter, Pebbles, in the animated spin-off series The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show.
Broadcast for a single season between 1971 and 1972, the cartoon followed the teenage duo as they attended Bedrock High School, dealt with adolescent issues, and formed a music group named the Bedrock Rockers.

The new project marks the latest effort to adapt the animated franchise into live action.
