Actress Selena Gomez carried a hot water bottle and wore slippers to film Only Murders In The Building in London on Tuesday during an extreme heat warning. The 34-year-old star was dressed in a casual gingham shirt and grey trousers as she headed to set in the UK capital. She briefly paused to sign autographs and pose for snaps with waiting fans, having already spent several weeks in Britain to film the show.
Gomez appeared to feel the chill despite the Met Office issuing its second extreme heat warning in four years. The alert states that the wider population is likely to experience some adverse health effects.

The 15-hour amber warning for central and southern England will run from 9am until midnight on Thursday. Another extreme heat warning was issued during a heatwave in June, which was the first time such an alert had been issued since 2022.
UK extreme heat warning
The UK has officially seen its hottest summer on record, with an average temperature of 16.48C. Forecasts indicate people across drought-hit England should expect no rain this week.
Separately, the UK Health Security Agency activated amber heat health alerts for much of England running until Friday, warning of a potential rise in deaths. The Government urged people to stay safe by drinking plenty of water, checking on vulnerable friends and family, and avoiding the sun during the hottest part of the day.
Highs of 26C in London, 28C in Manchester and 29C in Cardiff are expected before temperatures climb to 34C on Wednesday and 38C on Thursday. The UK could also see tropical nights where temperatures remain above 20C overnight.
Friday is likely to reach at least 30C before dropping to 26C across the weekend. If 38C is recorded, it would make Thursday Britain's joint fifth hottest day on record, tying with the temperature recorded at Lingwood in Norfolk on June 26. The hottest UK day on record occurred on July 19, 2022, when Coningsby in Lincolnshire hit 40.3C.

Only Murders in the Building season six
Gomez is in London to film the sixth season of Only Murders In The Building. The comedy series first aired in 2021 and has received a positive reception from fans and critics.
The show follows three neighbours who share an obsession with true-crime podcasts and unexpectedly find themselves investigating actual murders inside their upscale New York apartment building. It has earned several award nominations over the years, including an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series.
Gomez is also preparing for one of her boldest career pivots yet with a provocative new film that is a far cry from her Disney Channel days. According to Variety, the actress is attached to director Brady Corbet's next project, an ambitious X-rated feature.
Wedding and birthday celebrations
Last week, Gomez celebrated her 34th birthday with her husband, record producer Benny Blanco, in Italy. The singer posed in an array of swimsuit snaps as she marked the occasion.
The couple dined at Trattoria Della Santa in Bologna the day before her birthday. Restaurant owner Riccardo Lelli praised the couple, telling People: "They were absolutely amazing, very lovely, good-hearted people." He added: "They showered us with compliments for the food, for the service, and they were just great clients."
The singer and the record producer wed in September 2025 in Santa Barbara, California. Their wedding and reception took place under a private tent at Sea Crest Nursery with 170 guests, including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Paris Hilton, SZA and Finneas. Gomez's Only Murders In The Building co-stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Paul Rudd were also among the guests.
