People's Artist of Russia Sergei Bezrukov has spoken out about attempts by Western countries to block Russian cinema's path into Europe, according to Vesti.
The star of Yesenin and Brigada said the West is trying to board up the window into Europe that was once cut open, but that Russian cinema is searching for new opportunities.
Bezrukov's comments
Bezrukov said that side is trying to board up the window to Europe that was once cut through, adding that there is a chance to open a gate to the east instead, which is what is being done, though sometimes a new path has to be cut from scratch. He said the road belongs to those who keep walking it.
Bezrukov earlier said there is a fashion in the West that insults Russians, stressing that such a trend cannot help but offend Russian people.
