Mexican singer Thalía has released a new version of the 1980s pop anthem A Quién Le Importa alongside Argentine artist Luck Ra, reinterpreting the classic hit by Spanish group Alaska y Dinarama in a modern cuarteto dance style.
The track brings a danceable energy to the original song's message of resilience, aiming to introduce its theme of self-acceptance to a new generation of listeners.
Writing on social media, Thalía paid tribute to Alaska, who currently leads the Spanish electronic pop duo Fangoria, explaining how the Spanish singer changed her life when she was a child struggling with teenage insecurities.
Thalía recalled watching Alaska y Dinarama perform live in a television studio in Mexico when she was a young girl. She said that Alaska's voice, strength, clothing, makeup, and manner of expressing herself communicated a message she desperately needed to hear at the time, proving that it was fine to be different and fine to be oneself.
The Mexican performer stated that Alaska's magnetic and confident presence served as a refuge during her youth. Thalía added that she was a child who frequently felt she did not look or think like others, and that seeing Alaska behave so freely gave her a lasting sense of self-confidence.
A Pop Anthem Across Generations
Originally written and recorded in the 1980s by Alaska y Dinarama, A Quién Le Importa became a battle cry for people who felt misunderstood. Over the decades, the track has evolved into an enduring anthem of pride, embraced by successive generations across the Spanish-speaking world.

Her latest version pairs her with Argentine singer Luck Ra, shifting the signature 1980s synthpop melody into the traditional Argentine cuarteto genre. Thalía explained that she recorded this new interpretation during a period of major personal changes in her life, describing it as a shout of strength against public criticism and a push to keep moving forward.
Benefit Concert and Live Performance
Reflecting on the track, Thalía expressed her gratitude to Alaska for teaching listeners that being oneself is always an act of freedom. She described it as magical that a melody created thousands of kilometers away could touch a young girl's soul and continue to be reborn across borders.
Alaska will perform her music live alongside her longtime musical partner Nacho Canut when their group Fangoria takes the stage on October 24. The duo will feature in a star-studded lineup for the CADENA 100 POR ELLAS benefit concert, organized by Spanish radio network CADENA 100.
The annual music event raises funds for the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer, Spain's national cancer charity. Station organizers highlighted that Alaska and Canut continue to connect deeply with radio audiences through their distinctive style and stage presence.
