Country music star Tim McGraw fell onstage during his Pawn Shop Guitar Tour performance in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Aug. 28 before sharing a humorous video of the incident.
The 59-year-old Grammy winner took the tumble in stride, posting a clip of the moment to Instagram alongside a message thanking local fans and looking ahead to his next tour stop in Detroit.
"Cincinnati, you started our weekend off on the right foot even if I couldn't stay on mine," McGraw wrote on Instagram alongside a video of the heart-stopping moment. "We appreciate you coming out and singing along! Detroit, you're up!"
In the video clip, the hitmaker behind "I Like It, I Love It" fell backward before the footage froze at the exact moment he lost his balance. A voiceover added to the video joked, "Yup, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation."
The camera then zoomed in on his cowboy boot, which appeared to get caught in the stage flooring, causing him to topple backward. Fans expressed relief in the comment section after seeing the crash up close, with one follower writing, "I'm glad you are okay and can laugh about it now!" Another fan added, "That was a pretty hard crash..I hope you are okay! Always a showman."
McGraw, who is father to daughters Gracie, 29, Maggie, 28, and Audrey, 24, with his wife Faith Hill, also received a lighthearted reaction from family. Audrey commented under the post alongside laughing and red heart emojis, writing, "Oh nooooo."
Surprise Onstage Appearances and Tour Highlights
The onstage stumble has not overshadowed other memorable moments during McGraw's Pawn Shop Guitar Tour. On July 24, Audrey made a surprise appearance during her father's concert in Wantagh, New York, where she performed Hill's emotional 2002 song "Stronger."
Sharing a snippet of the performance on Instagram on July 25, Audrey reflected on the duet. "I don't have words to express the honor I feel to sing my mama's song last night, and for it to be at dad's show," she captioned the post. "To be your daughter is an infinite gift. I love y'all so much, I am always so proud and so inspired by you."
She added, "Thank you for sharing this crazy life with us. Proud to be a road dawg forever."
Decades of History With Faith Hill
McGraw and Hill have built a long career and personal partnership in country music since the 1990s. In September 1996, Hill helped McGraw prepare for the Andre Agassi Grand Slam For Children event in Las Vegas, less than a month before the couple married in his hometown of Rayville, Louisiana, in October 1996.
By January 1997, Hill displayed a baby doll dress style while pregnant with their first child at the American Music Awards. Two years later, the couple shared a moment backstage at the 1999 Grammy Awards before launching their first co-headlining Soul2Soul Tour in 2000, performing onstage at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Over the following years, the couple continued appearing together at major public events. They walked the red carpet at the 2006 Hollywood Film Festival premiere of McGraw's film Flicka, and in June 2010, they helped raise funds for Tennessee flood victims at the Nashville Rising benefit concert held at Bridgestone Arena.
In April 2015, Hill and McGraw attended the TIME 100 Gala alongside their three daughters, Maggie, Audrey, and Gracie. The platinum-selling artists were both honored in October 2016 with stars on the Nashville Music City Walk of Fame.

The couple made a date night out of the 2017 Academy of Country Music Awards, performing a duet onstage during the ceremony.
