Tori Spelling has responded to rumors of a rift between her and Jennie Garth, weeks after abruptly quitting their Beverly Hills, 90210 rewatch podcast. The 53-year-old actress addressed her relationship with Garth, 54, during an Instagram Live session with former co-star Brian Austin Green on Wednesday.

Spelling, who is the daughter of late film producer Aaron Spelling, did little to dispel the feud claims. She told viewers she wants to speak about the situation "in a thoughtful way, rather than being reactive."

The former child star added that she plans "to really take the time to really assess, really reflect" on the situation before discussing it at length. She urged viewers to "please, please keep watching Jennie and [producer] Amy [Sugarman]," who has filled in as co-host in her absence.

Spelling said Garth and Sugarman are "doing it and bringing on tons of fun hosts" for the series launched in 2020, adding, "We love you!" Representatives for Spelling and Garth did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The Daily Mail.

Podcast Departure and Co-Host Responses

The 90210MG podcast recaps episodes of the hit 1990s teen soap series, which also starred Green, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, the late Shannen Doherty, and the late Luke Perry. Spelling and Garth were recapping season 8 of the 10-season drama when Spelling announced her exit at the end of July.

Spelling said she was leaving to pursue other opportunities and encouraged fans to continue tuning in to upcoming episodes. Garth later spoke out about the change on the podcast, saying, "I’m sad that she’s not finishing this out with us. We started this together and I’m sad about that, if I’m honest, which I always am."

Garth added that she was "really happy" for Spelling's decision "to choose herself." Sugarman also addressed the departure, explaining, "This was 100 percent her decision."

Sugarman added that "two things can be true: we can be really bummed and disappointed that she’s not going to do seasons 9 and 10 with us, while still wanting her to be happy and to be excited for her about the things she’s working on and does want to do."

Decades of Friendship and Past Tributes

Spelling spoke about her decades-long friendship with Garth in 2020, telling People magazine, "We've been friends for 30 years. We've gone through decades of change as women. We're moms now and it's really the one relationship that has stayed all this time."

At the time, the pair had just launched their rewatch show together, which Spelling called "really fun." She noted that fans often tell them, "We can't believe you're actually best friends," adding that they created the girlfriends podcast blended with 90210 for the fans because they had a lot to talk about.

In May 2023, Garth shared a social media tribute to Spelling on Instagram for her 50th birthday alongside present and past photos. Garth wrote, "Happy Birthday, gorgeous. I’m so glad [you're] finally 50, I was feeling lonely without you. In my eyes we will always be these two teenagers…which explains why whenever we’re together that’s exactly how we act, LOL."

Garth continued in her note, "I can’t wait until we’re in our rockers, like we always talk about, laughing & remembering (or not in my case) the good ol’ days. I will love you until the end of time."
