Warner Bros. to Open Giant Harry Potter Store in London

Warner Bros. will open the largest official Harry Potter flagship store in the United Kingdom on London's Oxford Street in November.

The new retail space will span more than 21,000 square feet, or roughly 1,950 square metres, across two floors in the heart of the British capital. It is scheduled to welcome fans just a few weeks before HBO releases its new Harry Potter television series.

Designed around Diagon Alley, the iconic magical shopping street from J. K. Rowling's books, the venue will feature full-scale recreations to immerse visitors in the wizarding world. Key attractions will include a dragon mounted above Gringotts Bank, a full-size Knight Bus, and an outpost of the Leaky Cauldron pub serving food and butterbeer.

In the original stories, Diagon Alley serves as London's hidden marketplace for wizards, while the Leaky Cauldron acts as its entrance. Gringotts is the goblin-run bank that guards wizarding treasures, and the triple-decker Knight Bus provides emergency transport for stranded witches and wizards across Britain.

Executive statements and exclusive products

Karl Durrant, senior vice president of worldwide retail at Warner Bros., described the upcoming launch as a truly special milestone for the entertainment company. Durrant said there was no better location to establish a destination celebrating the magic, creativity, and stories that have captivated generations of fans globally.

The Oxford Street shop will become the second official Harry Potter establishment in the United Kingdom. It joins the existing official retail location at King's Cross station, the London transport hub famous as the departure point where Harry Potter and his schoolmates board the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9 3/4.

Visitors to the Oxford Street branch will have access to exclusive merchandise not sold at any other retail outlet. The exclusive product line includes a custom wand inspired by Diagon Alley, a special edition Funko Pop figure, and an artwork produced by graphic design studio MinaLima featuring both the Knight Bus and Diagon Alley.

MinaLima, founded by graphic designers Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, created the visual identity and graphic props for the Harry Potter film series. Funko Pop produces collectible vinyl figurines based on popular culture franchises.

HBO series relaunch drives retail expansion

The retail launch forms part of a broader corporate push by Warner Bros. ahead of HBO's upcoming television adaptation. HBO is preparing a long-running series that will readapt J. K. Rowling's book series from the beginning, recounting the young wizard's years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry over multiple seasons.

Warner Bros. aims to leverage the public momentum generated by the television project to boost its commercial business of products and experiences, maintaining the magical franchise as one of its most profitable global properties. The two-story space on Oxford Street will provide a major new London attraction for fans shortly before the saga returns to screens.
