Sex education continue on Netflix
Launched on Netflix in 2019, Sex education features an introverted teenager named Otis, whose the mother is a sexologist. Though he rejects her advice on the matter, he takes advantage of her knowledge to become the advisor to his high school classmates. Everyone wonders about their sexuality, their relationship, their relationship with pornography, etc. Through this multitude of themes, the series created by Laurie Nunn quickly found its audience.

It was also an opportunity for viewers to find Asa Butterfield (Hugo Cabret) in the lead role and Gillian Anderson as his mother. But the real revelation was Emma Mackey, the interpreter of Maeve, the high school “rebel” who convinces Otis to create this “sexology cabinet” and to charge high school students for his advice. An important character in the early seasons but soon to fade away.
End soon for Emma Mackey
Already for season 4 of Sex education the actress will only be “recurring” in the show. One way to prepare for the transition a his final departureto which he just announced Radio times.
No, I don’t think I’ll be in season five. I said goodbye to Maeve.
A decision that can be explained by his breakthrough now in the cinema. After wearing eiffel (2021) opposite Romain Duris, the French-British actress was part of the impressive cast of Death on the Nile (2022). But above all, we will see her soon titleEmilia (March 15). With this, Emma Mackey just won the “Rising Star” award (EE Rising Star) during BAFTA 2023.
The actress is on the rise and projects are expected to follow one another for her which necessarily leaves less time for a series like Sex education. He’ll still be around all season 4 to be able to say goodbye. This should come before the end of the year on Netflix. Whether or not the platform wants to continue the show remains to be seen.
