Obsession: The New Series heat from Netflix

Available on Netflix from April 13 the miniseries Obsession did not leave the top of the most watched platform programs in the world. It must be said that the recipe is unstoppable and has already proven itself. In fact, like successful platform programs like 365 days OR Sex/Lifethe program gives pride of place to sulfurous sex scenes. Which, once again, didn’t fail to make viewers react in a big way.

If you haven’t watched it yet, Obsession is a 4-episode miniseries created by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm and Benji Walters, adapted from the short story harm by Josephine Hart released in 1991. It follows the story of William, a surgeon, who begins a passionate relationship with Anna, his son Jay’s girlfriend. Unable not to succumb to the charms of the young woman, this relationship will lead to her downfall.

As for casting, Richard Armitage (star of the trilogy The Hobbit) plays the character of William, and Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders) plays the role of Anna.

Richard Armitage and a pillow

You will have understood it: the series Obsession is punctuated by sulfurous sex scenes. And whoever says sex scenes obviously says nudity. And fans weren’t disappointed! Thus, a scene from the first episode in particular it aroused the curiosity of the spectators. In fact, we (sneaking) see Richard Armitage’s intimate attributes as he steps out of the shower. The latter was questioned about his nude scene by the magazine HI! and his answers are unequivocal…

Thus, she confessed that the shoot had been naked very liberating for him. And that there was no reason to feel uncomfortable with these scenes, because after all, it was just about the “human body”. As for the famous masturbation scene with pillow in episode 2Richard Armitage said there was an element of improvisation:

It is described very clearly in the book. The script (of the series) had a slight difference in direction indication. (…) it was a handkerchief with which she dabs her lips, a handkerchief that he finds and with which she does something. For me, it was more about how his obsession with her manifests itself when he’s not around (…) it was a bit more ad-libbed like “leave me alone in the room and let’s see what happens to him psychologically.”
