During an interview, Tom Hanks was quite candid when recalling career ups and downs
One of the most beloved actors of hollywood, Tom Hanks starred in hits like Saving Private Ryan (1998), Forrest Gump – The Storyteller (1994), shipwrecked (2000), Waiting for a miracle (1999) and The terminal (2004), but the artist admitted how he worked on some movies he hates.
During an interview with The New Yorker, hanks looked back on his extensive career and hollywood and took the opportunity to vent about productions that he began to hate. “Okay, let’s be honest: we’ve all seen movies we hate.”
I’ve been to some movies that I hate myself. And I know you’ve seen some of my movies that you ended up hating.
“When you see the completed film, one of two things happens: either it works, and it’s exactly the movie you wanted to make; or it doesn’t work, and has nothing to do with what you envisioned,” continued the star. “There’s no way of knowing whether a movie will be good or bad during the filming process, because everything happens so slowly and so specifically.”
You need to trust the process, trust your people, and expect everyone to be doing their best. You need to have faith and hope.
Right away, Tom Hanks took the opportunity to cite examples of films that have improved over the years: “Films like Happiness Cannot Be Purchased (1946) were not received well in their day. my movie The Wonders – The Dream Isn’t Over (1996) neither, but today I see the same critics who massacred it saying that it is ‘a cult classic of Tom Hanks.'”
