Colton Haynes has arrived Arrow in 2013 as a well-known face for adolescent wolf fans, and became a key part of the superhero show that would launch an entire universe of TV shows that continues to this day. That said, his role as Roy Harper has involved going back and forth on the regular series over the years, and now the actor has revealed why. The seventh season was his last as a starter. with only sporadic appearances in the eighth and final season.
In an excerpt from his new memoir (via MYSELF! information ), I call lose the avenue of memoryHaynes revealed the truth behind his reduced role as Roy in season 8’s Arrow after returning to the regular state of the series in the seventh season. Now, more than two years after the series finale (for which Haynes is back), his memoir sheds light on what happened behind the scenes. He has written:
I quit my full-time job at Arrow earlier this year, presumably because my contract had expired, but it was actually because I was too depressed and couldn’t stand working with one of my co-stars.
Colton Haynes does not identify which of the co-stars he “couldn’t bear to work with” during what was presumably season 7, which was the last season he was announced as a series regular. When news broke in 2019 that Haynes would not be returning full-time for season eight, the actor turned to Twitter to state that “he was not asked to return for the final season as a series regular”.
He also said in that post in 2019 that Roy “has never been too long,” so there was no sense of bad blood between Haynes and the show. He did not appear in all episodes of the seventh season, but is credited with having appeared in ten of the 22 episodes of the season.
His role in the seventh season was split between the present and flash-forward to the dystopian future which included the children of current heroes including William, Mia, Zoe and Connor Hawke, as well as previous versions of heroes such as Felicity, Black Siren, Black Canary and Wild Dog, as well as Roy.
Haynes later appeared in three of the ten episodes of season 8, including the series finale which featured many of the most important characters in the entire history of the series following the events of the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” which changed everything and changed everything. created Oliver. for a happy ending despite its fate as a “crisis”. Haynes was one of the many cast members who shared touching messages on the last day of shooting .
The actor may never reveal all the details about the co-star he “can’t stand” working with, but at least he seems to be well under way if he could say so in his memoirs. Previously he shared why he left as a regular the first time at the end of season 3, saying he asked. stay away for the sake of your mental and physical health .
Colton Haynes hasn’t returned to the Arrowverse for any of the other shows since the main series finale in early 2020, but fans with netflix subscription can relive his days as Roy Harper / Arsenal with all eight seasons of Arrow transmission available.
