The fierce competition between two action stars
If today they show their complicity and have given themselves the answer in particular Consumables: special unit AND LeakArnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone “I can’t stand being in the same room” in the 80s, when they were at the height of their fame. The two actors then wage a fierce competition to be at the top of the box office.

In the documentary series Arnold available on Netflix, Sly and Schwarzy retrace their comparison for determine who would be “the ultimate action star”. For this, they make every effort to have the biggest muscles, biggest weapons and apply themselves to accumulate more corpses than their competitor. Sylvester Stallone recalls:
We had a radically different style of play. He was the top guy. He had the answer to everything. With body and strength. It was his character. I was trying to be the nice guy, but not overdo it. I had to get my ass kicked all the time. Arnold, he was never hurt. (…) The antagonism between us has been pushed to the extreme. We couldn’t bear to be in the same room. We had to part ways.

Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to blow up the counter
Even the interpreter of John Rambo and Rocky Balboa recognizes itArnold Schwarzenegger ‘wanted to be number one’ and that he ‘got there’. Ultra competitive, the latter manages to trap Sylvester Stallone at the time, managing to convince him to participate in the comedy Stop or my mother will shoota foreseeable artistic disaster.
Schwarzy also surrounds himself with very talented directors, starting with James Cameron. In 1991, the actor topped the box office thanks to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the biggest hit of his career which amounts to more than $515 million in worldwide revenue. If the film works so well, it’s because its director had the brilliant idea of making the T-800 embodied by Arnold Schwarzenegger the protector and not the killer of John Connor (Edward Furlong). Under the orders of the future leader of the resistance, the cyborg promises him that he will never kill anyone again.

A reversal of situations that leaves the actor wary when he discovers the script. Reprising his role as the Terminator, he mostly sees the ability to outrun Sylvester Stallone by blowing up the kill counteras he explained during the screening of the blockbuster at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures (via Expiration):
Jim had this brilliant idea, even though I was suspicious at first. He told me: “I want to make you a good Terminator”. I replied: “What do you mean by ‘a good Terminator’? In the first I killed 68 people. In the second I have to kill 150! (…) cannon, smash them”. I had to beat Stallone. My mission was to be the one who killed the most people on screen.
James Cameron fortunately manages to dissuade him and Arnold Schwarzenegger admits today that his fixation was a bit “stupid”. And listening to the director didn’t stop him from “getting over Stallone.”
