Keep adding recognition. Soda Stereo will receive the Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence 2023.
This was announced by the board of directors of the Latin Grammy, which will be presented in November this year, in Seville, Spain.
The Musical Excellence Award awarded to performers who, during their career, have
made creative contributions of exceptional artistic value to Latin music and its
communities.
In addition to Soda, this year’s winners will include Alex Acuña, Carmen Linares, Mijares, Arturo Sandoval, Gustavo Santaolalla, Simone, Wisón Torres and Ana Torroja.
There is no doubt that Soda Stereo is one of the most important and influential bands in the history of Argentinian and Latin American rock.with massive popularity across the continent from the mid-1980s to the present day.
The band, in case anyone doesn’t remember, was formed in 1983 and consisted of Gustavo Cerati (vocals, guitars), Zeta Bosio (bass) and Charly Alberti (drums).
