The Little Mermaid: a half-hearted live action
The latest classic Disney cartoon adapted into live action, The little Mermaid directed by Rob Marshall did not have the success hoped for in theaters. With sixteen million views in the first five days of its arrival on the platform, Rob Marshall’s film simply achieved one of the best debuts of all time for Disney+ with Hocus Pocus 2 (which was not released in cinemas Ed).
Record figures which should help to replenish Disney’s coffers a bit, but which could also convince the company to focus more on digital releases than on cinematographic ones…
