Shakira gives “classes” and inaugurates a school in Barranquilla

Far from controversies and headaches, Shakira This was news again. And for good reason: the singerhad just inaugurated a new Pies Descalzos school in Barranquilla.

The Colombian initiative came to fruition at the Nuevo Bosque Educational Center, created by the Pies Descalzos Foundation in collaboration with the Barranquilla City Hall, the “la Caixa” Foundation, the FC Barcelona Foundation and the LCI Educational Foundation.

With 6,000 square meters, the school will impact approximately 1,000 students each yearwho will complete their primary and secondary studies.

In addition, the place will be a community center that will open development spaces for fathers, mothers and other members of the community.

The project, which began in 2018, includes 22 regular classrooms, 4 preschool classes, two laboratories, art rooms, library, dining room, kitchen and other common areas for students and the community to enjoy.

This is obviously not the first time that Shakira, through the Pies Descalzos Foundation, has collaborated with education in her native country. In fact, it is estimated that it has already contributed to the realization of educational projects and school infrastructure for more than 152,000 boys, girls and young people.

It is undoubtedly, without counting her musical achievements, one of the singer’s greatest achievements.
