After the romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise (2022), Julia Roberts returns to our screens in a completely different genre with The world after us (in the original version Leave the world behind). The film is directed by Sam Email (Mr. Robot) and is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Rumaan Alam. It’s botha psychological thriller and’a disaster moviesince it will more or less be the end of the world.

The world after us will see Julia Roberts play Amanda, and Ethan Hawke plays her husband. They both rent a house to spend a family vacation. But one night, two strangers (Mahershala Ali and Myha’la Herrold) knock on their door and announce thata cyber attack is about to hit the country. And turning on the television, the news confirms their words…

A very disturbing trailer

A series of disasters will then occur before Kevin Bacon ends this video with the disturbing phrase: “We have been abandoned“.
