Jenna Ortega starred in some hits on television and in theaters
One of the main actresses of recent years, responsible for working on projects such as Wandinha, Scream 5 (2022), X – The Mark of Death (2022) and You, Jenna Ortega revealed how he “can’t watch himself” acting, whether in theaters or television series.
During an interview with the magazine Harper’s Bazaarin which he received the award Breakthrough at the Women of the Year Awards 2023, Ortega he explained how he wouldn’t be able to move forward with his own career if he spent too much time focusing on aspects he didn’t like about a particular scene.
“I can’t watch my work because I know I can’t force myself to move forward and continue to grow as an actress if I hold on to certain elements,” she said. “A lot of people in my profession can probably relate to this: When you do a take you don’t like, you go to bed kicking yourself.”
But ultimately, all I can do is be vulnerable and honest when the camera is on, and then I need to move on and let it go.
Right away, Jenna Ortega explained how she wants to take control of her career and is desperate to be able to make mistakes and learn from them: “I want to be able to really orchestrate my own future and take more specific and precise steps. I even begged a little to be able to make a mistake. Because how can I learn if I don’t do it myself?”
“I can’t be afraid of the fact that I might fall flat on my face. But it’s hard to do that when so many people are watching,” the actress continued. To wrap things up, she added how she’s learned to keep her own anxiety in check by realizing she’s not the only one who is “naturally terrified” of making mistakes. Plus, even the most successful people in the industry can struggle.
“What helps me sleep at night is knowing that everyone – no matter how successful or hardworking – is flying by the seat of their pants,” he said. Ortega. “No one knows what’s going on. Everyone does something for the first time. Someone doesn’t have an advantage over you. Nobody is beneath you.”
We are all on equal terms because we are all naturally terrified.
