The new feature has as its starting point the closing episode of the series, which debuted in 1992 and aired for five seasons until 1997.
X-Men ’97, a classic series about Marvel’s mutants, already has a date to arrive on Disney+. This Thursday (15), Marvel Entertainment released the first preview of the animation, which will continue the story that previously ended in the 5th season, shown in 1997.
In the trailer, we see scenes from the last episode of the series, in which the professor Charles Xavier dies and leaves the X-Men with the responsibility of continuing to fight to defend the defenseless, as the group’s mentor and leader wished. Watch:
Previously scheduled to debut in the second half of 2023, X-Men ’97 will now come to Disney+ on March 20 this year. However, the streaming platform did not clarify what the new release model will be: whether the episodes will be released weekly, as is the service’s custom; weekly, as happened with the second season of What If…?; or in full, as was the case with the miniseries Echo.
The voice cast of the new version of X-Men ’97 will feature the returns of original actors from the series, including Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Catherine Disher as jean gray, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Chris Potter as Gambit, Adrian Hough as Nocturnal It is Christopher Britton as Mr. Sinister. The actress Alyson Courtwho dubbed the Jubileeyou will gain a new character in the story.
