Britney Spears’ Ex-Husband Accused of Sexual Assault

A California judge ruled on Monday that there was enough evidence against a man married to Britney Spears who showed up uninvited at a pop star’s wedding to go to court on criminal charges.

After a two-hour pre-trial hearing, Ventura County District Judge David Worley ruled that Jason Allen Alexander, 40, should be charged with aggravated assault, vandalism and battery, court records show.

Alexander’s lawyer, who did not appear and remains in prison, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Spears married her longtime boyfriend Sam Asgar on June 9 at their home in Thousand Oaks, California in front of several dozen guests including Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton and Madonna.

Spears’ childhood friend Alexander, whom she married less than three days ago in 2004, showed up at her home uninvited before the ceremony, broadcasting their foray live on Instagram.

Richard Eubler, following the release of a security guard for Spears, testified at a hearing on Monday that Alexander had entered his home and locked the doors to Spears’ bedroom while he was inside, according to various media reports.

Eubler said that Alexander also tried to get into the wedding a few days before the wedding.

Alexander’s attorney, Sandra Bisinian, argued that there was no evidence that Spears had any intentions.
