Released in 2021 in the Disney+ catalogue, The Beatles: Get Back was made based on more than 60 hours of behind-the-scenes footage from Let It Be (1970)
Iconic guitarist pink Floydone of the most important bands in the history of rock, David Gilmour gave his opinion on the documentary series The Beatles: Get Backdirected by Peter Jackson and launched in 2021 on Disney+.
According to the artist, the production was quite “difficult to watch” and he was even “surprised” that Paul McCartneyone of the members of the Beatles, let the project happen. It is worth remembering how the documentary was made based on more than 60 hours of footage when the Fab Four recorded his last studio album, titled Let It Be (1970).
During an interview with Uncut, Gilmour revealed how often documentaries about bands from the 1960s and 1970s, such as Beatles. According to him, Get Back is “difficult to watch,” and noted “Paul being domineering and John [Lennon] dodging due to the moment he was in at that moment and George [Harrison] leaving and returning.”
Horrible, really, I mean, it’s beautiful for us to watch, but I’m surprised that Paul has allowed.
