A spin-off for M3GAN

M3GAN was a big success for Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Productions (the other company behind the film). Second IMDbthe feature film was made with a budget of 12 million dollars. Gold, brought in more than 180 million at the global box office. This success prompted the studio to order a sequel, but also a spin-off.
Kate Dolan will direct SOULM8TE
Expiration announces that Blumouse Productions and Atomic Monster are working a new feature film located in the universe of M3GAN. This will be titled SOULM8TE. The story will focus on a man who, after the death of his wife, gets a robot equipped with artificial intelligence. But, to have a partner truly endowed with feelings, he modifies it and it unintentionally turns him into a mortal soulmate.
SOULM8TE is presented as a film similar to “90s erotic thrillers”. There will be also “a new technological breakthrough”. The film’s story was developed by James Wan, Ingrid Bisu and Rafael Jordan. The latter then wrote a first version of the screenplay. Then, Kate Dolan wrote the final version. Having already ventured into the horror genre with Samhein, will also direct the spin-off of M3GAN.

Kate Dolan’s new film will arrive in American cinemas January 2, 2026. She is expected to be released around the same time in France. Before that, M3GAN 2.0the sequel to the horror film, will still be released in the United States on June 27, 2025.
